Queensland farmer dies in flash flooding at Killarney while moving cattle to higher ground

A man has died after being swept away by flash flooding on Queensland’s Southern Downs.
Police say the 69-year-old had been moving cattle to higher ground on a property along Condamine River Road, in Killarney, when rapidly rising floodwaters washed away his vehicle around 8:30pm last night.
Emergency services were called and began a search and rescue operation.
The man’s body was found inside his vehicle around 100 metres downstream after midnight.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
