Queensland family to be reunited as NZ travel bubble goes ahead

After two false starts, a north Queensland couple might finally be able to tie the knot in front of the bride’s family thanks to the trans-Tasman travel bubble.

Amelia Williams was set to marry her partner, Alex Knight-Colling, on October 31 last year, however the pandemic and border closures prevented the wedding at her dream venue in Wellington, New Zealand.

The Townsville-based couple lost thousands of dollars and moved the date to Easter Saturday, which also had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 and border concerns.
