Queensland breaks Australian record with 16-centimetre hail

Queensland has reported an Australian record-breaking weather event, the Bureau of Meteorology says, as 16-centimetre hail pelted down near Mackay.

The giant hailstones were seen in Yalboroo, north of Mackay, in central Queensland on Tuesday.
