Queensland border pass exemption not needed for millions more as regional NSW allowed in from 1am
Long queues of traffic are expected to plague checkpoints along the Queensland–New South Wales border for much of Tuesday morning.
The border rules finally eased at 1am on Tuesday, allowing residents from regional NSW to enter the Sunshine State.
It means more than 3 million people will be allowed to cross the border without quarantining.
However, it will still be several weeks until that same luxury is afforded to Greater Sydney or Victoria.
