Qualcomm’s newest 7-series processor has launched, and while it’s not the first 7-series processor with 5G, it is the first a selection of 8-series features, bring them to devices that will be cheaper than those using the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 780G 5G Mobile Platform has been announced, and will be available from Q2, 2021, and while we don’t yet know which manufacturers will use it, it will allow near-flagship performance without the ultra-premium price tags.
