Qld woman wins appeal over stabbing death of partner

There was evidence in the month before the death that Ms Blockey had told an acquaintance if Mr Windle continued to accuse her of sleeping with others, she would “stab him with Kitty and kill him”. ‘Kitty’ was the name Ms Blockey gave for the hunting knife she used to kill Mr Windle.
The Court of Appeal on Wednesday found the sentencing judge’s conclusion that Ms Blockey’s timely guilty plea was tempered by her failure to provide any comprehensive, reliable detail concerning the stabbing showed a misapplication of sentencing principles.
