QGAir Brisbane Helicopter was called yesterday around midday to assist in locating and winching an injured bush walker, who had fallen 4 meters down a cliff on Mount Gannon.
A QAS Flight Paramedic and a QGAir Rescue crewman were winched into the location to stabilise and package the male patient. The patient was winched out and flown to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
The task was a combined effort of all emergency services working together and backing up each other for a successful outcome.
A big shout out to the SES and QAS crews who trekked into the location as a backup plan to walkout the patient over very rough and hazardous terrain if the air assist was unable to achieve the task. Thanks to channel 7 for the footage. #QAS #SES #thisisrsq
