Insurance giant QBE has withheld a dividend payout and posted a $2 billion loss as a nightmare combination of bad events including COVID-19 and wild weather ate into earnings.
The decision to not pay any dividend contrasts with two Australian-based insurers, Suncorp and IAG, which have a large domestic focus, shooting out meek payouts to investors this year.
