The shock exit of QBE boss Pat Regan after a complaint from a female employee over inappropriate communication has sparked criticism from a key investor.

A source who was not authorised to speak publicly on the matter said a female staff member in QBE’s North American operations had raised concerns about inappropriate workplace communications about 10 days ago.
The concerns were passed on to the board, which commissioned an Australian law firm to conduct an investigation, and on Tuesday QBE’s board said the communications did not meet the standards of its code of ethics and conduct. The source said the law firm’s report to the board did not find…
