Pumas believe Maradona backlash behind racist tweets storm – Sydney Morning Herald
Pumas captain Pablo Matera was sacked after old racist tweets re-surfaced and they believe a backlash about their respect for Maradona’s death is involved.

The tweets were the subject of an emergency UAR board meeting, where it was decided Matera’s position as captain was no longer tenable.
