Public Shark Report: QLD – WOODY BAY – BRIBIE ISLAND. 18:00, 07 Nov 20, 2m, Unknown, Sighting from shore, Public Report: Walking back from Red Beach NE along shoreline of Woody Bay. Had 2 dogs with me. Tide going out Nov 7th between 5.50 – 6.15pm. Dogs playing near waters edge. Small rolling waves. Saw fins approx 4 metres from us and thought it was a pod of dolphins seen earlier. Stopped to watch, and realised fins belonged to shark. They were in shallow water, perhaps knee deep and glided through the water at a consistent distance from shore, cutting through the small waves breaking around them. They- were 10/15 feet off shore.
Shadow was easily discernable and i watched it, fascinated. We were walkng slowly back to the entry point of offlead dog beach in Woorim. Shark kept pace with us for a good 20 minutes and covered approx 400 – 500 metres. The main dorsal fin broke the surface multiple times as the water was so shallow. The shadow was easily seen in the shallows and i needed to keep my dogs restrained as they were aware of its presence. → https://www.dorsalwatch.com/r/22698
