In February, an overjoyed Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their second child, a sister for their young son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, who turned two in May.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson at the time said the Queen and Prince Philip, and the entire royal family were delighted by the news and wished the couple well.
