Prince Charles has been working for the Royal Family in different ways since he was four years old and became heir apparent. Throughout his life, he has remained committed to the Royal Family and has taken advice and guidance from his royal forebears. But what touching display did Charles recently exhibit proving he is endeavouring to follow in his father Prince Philip’s impressive footsteps?Prince Philip celebrated his 99th birthday last month commemorating his 65th year by the Queen’s side.
During his royal career, he completed 22,219 solo engagements and 637 solo overseas trips.
The Duke of Edinburgh also delivered 5,496 speeches and was a patron of 785 organisations.
He retired from royal business in 2017 and has since largely stayed out of the public eye.

But Prince Charles could have retired several years ago.
The 71-year-old Prince of Wales reached State Pension age several years ago.
In fact, he could have retired in 2014 aged 65.
However, he and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall have said they have no plans to slow down despite their age.

It is unsurprising Prince Charles is unwilling to consider retirement as he has spent his entire life waiting to become king.
Royal biographer Andrew Morton claims the coronavirus pandemic may pave the way for Charles to take on a larger role within the Royal Family.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Mr Morton said: “It’s terribly sad but I can’t see how the Queen can resume her job.
“The COVID-19 virus isn’t going away soon and will be with us for months if not years.
He added: “It would be far too risky for the Queen to start meeting people on a regular basis.”
But Mr Morton said it would unlikely lead to Prince Charles becoming king.
Instead, he could become Prince Regent if the Queen triggers the Regency Act.
In order for the Act to pass, Prince Philip along with a Houses of Parliament spokesperson and a third senior person would have to provide evidence of the Queen’s inability to perform her duties, to support her request.
The last time the Regency Act was invoked was in 1810 during the reign of George III, after the monarch became permanently deranged.
According to royal author Robert Jobson, the Queen and the next in line to the throne are already in a “period of transition” whereby the Queen is granting son Charles with more and more responsibility.
Mr Jobson told Insider: “If implemented it would see Charles appointed Prince Regent, King in all but name,” Jobson, author of “The Royal Family Operations Manual.
“My understanding is that while the Queen feels fit and well both physically and mentally she will continue to reign, supported by her son, Charles, and William, his heir, and the rest of the Royal Family.
“But if for any reason, such as being limited to perform her public duties due, for example, to the pandemic or infirmity, she may well re-consider her position as she won’t be able to fulfil her duties.”
