Mr Seeley told the inquest he reversed his car back out onto Wacol Station Road, then the same police officers who had pulled him over earlier for a broken tail light, approached him.

Mr Seeley said the officers asked him some questions before leaving.

Mr Mulvihill then came out, reversed Mr Seeley’s car down around the back of the Ascot Taxis base and Mr Seeley waited by a nearby phone box — the one Ms Phillips had used to call for help.

While waiting on Wacol Station Road, the same two police officers returned and spoke to him for a third time.
