Primal Scream singer Denise Johnson dead at 56 – 9TheFIX

Singer Denise Johnson has died suddenly aged 56.
The Manchester-born singer was best known for her vocals on Scottish band Primal Scream’s 1991 album Screamadelica. A friend of Johnson’s confirmed the death on Twitter, with her family later releasing a statement. 
In the statement, the family revealed that the singer had been “ill in the week prior to her death, but told friends she was ‘much better’ on Friday”.
