Popular Disneyland ride to receive major makeover after criticism of racist depictions – 9Travel
A popular Disneyland attraction will be reworked in response to claims it promotes racist depictions of people of colour.
The Jungle Cruise ride, introduced to the theme park in 1955, was partially inspired by the film The African Queen.
In conjunction with Disney releasing live-action film Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, this year, the amusement park at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Florida will upgrade the attraction to include the new storyline and updated animatronics.
