Police van damaged, Surfers Paradise

A man has been charged after a police vehicle was struck by a car in Surfers Paradise overnight.
It will be alleged a stolen 2004 Honda Accord was seen by patrolling officers driving dangerously in a hotel car park on Fern Street.
A tyre deflation device was strategically placed which the sedan drove over when the driver sighted police.
The vehicle has continued on four deflated tyres and ran into the side of a marked van at the top of an exit ramp.
The male driver of the Honda was arrested nearby on the Gold Coast Highway.
Two women who were also allegedly travelling in the stolen car were arrested and are assisting police with their inquiries.
No one was injured.
