Police urge residents to beware of scams

Noosa Police are warning Sunshine Coast residents to be vigilant of people offering to do work at unrealistic prices.

A joint effort between Noosa Police and the Noosa detectives has seen a man charged with fraud after he allegedly used social media to advertise pool construction, and failed to follow through with the jobs after receiving payment.

So far, 10 victims have been identified.

A 32-year-old Tewantin man has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 16.

Police are asking members of the public to come forward if they have any information or if they believe they have been a victim of this scam.
