Police target road safety following high number of fatalities in Logan District

Logan Police are putting the spotlight on road safety as part of a new local initiative ‘Operation Own It’ which officially launched today (November 18) during National Road Safety Week.
The proactive campaign comes as Logan has so far recorded the largest increase in road fatalities of any district in the state with 19 lives lost so far this year – 16 more than 2019.
Chief Superintendent Brian Swan said with more locals predicted to take to the roads during the Schoolies period and the lead up to Christmas, the district was taking a proactive approach to encouraging road users to own their driving behaviour no matter the purpose of their trip in Logan.
