Police are encouraging everyone to have a safe Australia Day, with thousands of people expected to attend gatherings at public events, parks and beaches across the state.
Sunshine Coast District Superintendent Craig Hawkins said police want everyone to have a safe day and remain respectful.
All available resources will be deployed to ensure 2021 Australia Day gatherings are not adversely affected by incidents of public disorder or alcohol fuelled violence.
