Police charge man after north Queensland stand-off

A man has been charged in relation to an incident in Townsville last week where an armed man was allegedly threatening neighbours.
Specialist police and police negotiators were called to a property in Clarke Street in Garbutt about 10am on Thursday, February 25, where an emergency declaration was made under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) with an exclusion zone set up encompassing Clarke, Dearness, Douglas, Ramsay and Chandler streets.
It is understood a man was questioned before being released by police, while another man was unable to be found.
Police entered the house at 5.20pm and found it empty, while no guns were found inside.
