Police believe Auburn drive-by shooting is linked to gang war between rival Sydney crime families

Detectives are investigating whether a drive-by shooting which injured a nurse is linked to an escalating gang war between two rival Sydney crime families.
Key points:
Police were called to a townhouse on Auburn Road in Auburn, in Western Sydney, after neighbours reported hearing several gunshots last night.
Officers say two men dressed in black were spotted getting out of a car before firing several shots into the home.
The residents of the property were inside but escaped injury.
A female nurse suffered a cut to her leg after a bullet ricocheted off the building and shattered a window at Auburn Hospital.
Investigators believe the shooting could be linked to an escalating deadly feud between the Hamzy and Alameddine families.
