Police arrest Gold Coast man who triggered emergency declaration
The man, believed to be armed with a firearm, who triggered a school lockdown and made threats against police has been arrested on the Gold Coast.
The search for Mark Lutgenau, 37, near Ormeau State School caused a five-hour emergency declaration on Tuesday, causing chaos during the afternoon school pick-up.
He had been missing since Monday night where he was last seen in Upper Coomera.
A police spokeswoman would not confirm a News Corp report on Wednesday that police stations had been warned of a threat that the suspect would attend a station in Queensland’s south-east and “start shooting”.
A police spokesman on Wednesday said police are aware that “the man has made threats”.
