PNG health workers warn coronavirus crisis will get worse before it gets better

Although Australia has delivered 8,000 COVID-19 vaccines to Papua New Guinea this week, the hard work has only just begun, according to the head of the country’s ambulance service.

“Getting the vaccines out around the rest of the country is going to take, even in the most urgent of situations, … weeks if not months,” Matthew Cannon, the CEO of St John Ambulance PNG, warned.
