PM sets path to net zero emissions by 2050 – The Australian Financial Review
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has all but locked in a commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
The key to meeting our climate change ambitions is commercialisation of low emissions technology.
In a seismic shift for the Coalition, Mr Morrison flagged adopting the policy of net zero emissions in a speech late last year and, to avoid splitting his party which is divided over the idea, has been edging towards it in increments ever since.
His main caveat has been that he would not take the final step until he could demonstrate how it would be achieved using technological advance and not taxes…
