PM doubts public supports constitutional recognition of indigenous Australians

Prime Minister Scott Morrison believes there is not enough support among Australians for constitutional recognition of First Nations people, saying his government is focused on designing an indigenous voice to parliament.

And he is adamant that any indigenous advisory body should not be enshrined in the Australian Constitution.
This is despite the 2017 Uluru Statement From The Heart called for a constitutionally-enshrined Indigenous advisory body and a commission to oversee treaty-making and truth-telling.
