Plagiarism case over Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven finally ends – The Guardian
US supreme court rejects appeal relating to Spirit and their song Taurus, after verdict in favour of Led Zeppelin was upheld earlier this year

Led Zeppelin have prevailed in a long-standing copyright battle over their signature song, Stairway to Heaven.
The US supreme court has declined to hear the case brought against them by the estate of Randy Wolfe, late frontman of US band Spirit.
It was alleged that Led Zeppelin took the opening notes to Stairway to Heaven from Spirits song Taurus after Robert Plant saw Spirit perform in Birmingham in 1970. Plant has said he cannot recall the gig owing to his involvement in a serious car crash …
