Perth Christmas Day weather forecast predicts cool change for the main event
Temperatures in Perth are set to nudge 40 degrees Celsius in the lead up to Christmas but an eleventh-hour reprieve will see it cool down to a more pleasant 31C on Christmas Day.
Key points:
- Temperatures are set to soar above 40C in inland parts of WA
- Northern parts of the Kimberley are bracing for a deluge of rain
- The good news is the bad weather is unlikely to become a cyclone
A trough will drag hot air down the west coast during the week before moving inland on Christmas Eve, allowing sea breezes to bring a mild reprieve on Friday.
Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) Senior Forecaster Steph Bond said: “On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we’ll have hot east to north-easterly winds but by Friday we’ll start the day off in more of an onshore flow.”
