Mr Bloxham said higher US interest rates would put downward pressure on the Australian dollar and help boost the domestic economy, further lifting iron ore profits and adding upward pressure on domestic inflation figures.
However, the better than expected results are largely attributed to a strong post-pandemic bounceback creating a disconnect between supply and demand factors, and the Federal Reserve remains stubbornly of the view these are transitory factors.
