A police chief has warned that people are acting like the virus isnt out there after a weekend of illegal gatherings in the West Midlands, despite Birmingham edging closer to a local lockdown.
Waheed Saleem, the deputy police and crime commissioner for the West Midlands, welcomed new police powers that allow fines of up to £10,000 for organisers of unlawful raves from Friday.
