Passengers of The Ghan trapped on train for 30 hours due to COVID outbreak
Peter Harris was celebrating his 80th birthday by ticking The Ghan off his “bucket list”.
It was his second attempt at riding the famed Australian passenger train after COVID-19 ruined his plans last year.
His daughter, Brisbane woman Susan Harris Rimmer, bought him the ticket and went on the trip with him.
“We were trying to make sure his 80th birthday was really special,” she told 7NEWS.
They boarded in Adelaide on Sunday, before arriving in Alice Springs the following day.
