Outback Queensland tourism season extended as tourists brave heat to check out west in summer

Tourism operators in outback Queensland usually enjoy some much-needed downtime over the summer months.

Most travellers usually steer clear of the west, as temperatures consistently hover around the high 30s and early 40s, opting instead to spend their holidays near the beach.
