Intensive hypertension management could not be blamed for orthostatic hypotension, a systematic review found.
Lower BP targets were actually associated with lower risk of these large drops in blood pressure (BP) than seen with a standard BP goal (OR 0.93, 95% CI 0.86-0.99), a group led by Stephen Juraschek, MD, PhD, of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, found across five randomized trials.
