One-time Melbourne Cup favourite Il Paradiso is edging closer to a return to duty with trainer Chris Waller poised to set his sights on multiple Group 1 assignments in the 2021 Sydney autumn.
Il Paradiso was ruled out of racing for 2020 in March after suffering an injury during trackwork at Rosehill.
The talented stayer sustained a mild tear strain to its near fore leg and Waller opted to spell him immediately, ruling him out of a Melbourne Cup tilt.
