October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – 2GB – 2GB

Second only to lung cancer in causing cancer deaths in women, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women in Australia, with an estimated 19,974 new cases likely to be diagnosed by the end of 2020.
A major concern is that during the pandemic people have deferred screening which could delay diagnosis which is particularly sad given that finding breast cancer early means there are more treatment options and chances of survival are greatest.
