Globetrotting Group One winner Anthony Van Dyck for Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien heads the weights for the 2020 Melbourne Cup. Anthony Van Dyck ($81) has been allotted 58.5kg, making him the clear topweight, with stablemate Sovereign, last year’s winner Vow And Declare and Godolphin veteran Avilius next with 57kg.
The Danny O’Brien-trained Vow And Declare carried 52kg to victory in 2019.
