Trainer Danny O’Brien says Russian Camelot is ‘right in the mix’ as one of the best horses in Australia, as he plots a light autumn for his stable star.
Speaking after Russian Camelot’s easy trial at Werribee over 1100 metres on Tuesday, O’Brien said he is likely to stick to his initial plan of running the four-year-old just twice this preparation.
However, he wouldn’t fully rule out a first-up tilt at the Group 1 Futurity Stakes, rather than another trial.
