NT Government declares Greater Brisbane a coronavirus hotspot, effective immediately
The Northern Territory Government has declared the Greater Brisbane area region a COVID-19 hotspot, effective immediately.
Key points:
- Queensland has imposed a three-day lockdown for Greater Brisbane after a case of a new strain of coronavirus was detected
- Subsequently, people entering the NT from Greater Brisbane must enter quarantine or return home
- There has been 88 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the NT
Chief Minister Michael Gunner said this included the council areas of Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and Redlands.
He said this “means anyone arriving in the Territory today from these regions will have to enter mandatory two-week quarantine”.
