NSW records seven new local COVID-19 cases, as testing figures reach nearly 70,000

NSW has recorded seven new local COVID-19 cases as people continue to come forward in record numbers for testing.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said were there more than 69,800 tests recorded in the 24 hours to 8:00pm last night — the state’s highest number yet.
Six of the seven are people already in isolation.
Four are linked to the northern beaches cluster and three are under investigation.
However, Ms Berejikilan said there were still concerns about “potential spread through the CBD” following emerging cases outside of the northern beaches.
People as being urged to avoid the CBD and the Boxing Day sales.
“We know this is not the easiest message to give to those retailers, but we want to discourage people going to the CBD tomorrow,”…
