NSW Government budget spending voucher scheme for residents delayed as business picks up in the festive season

The Sydney business community has advised the State Government to delay the rollout of its half-a-billion-dollar voucher scheme for residents.
Key points:
- Residents over 18 are eligible for four Dine and Discover vouchers
- The vouchers will now be rolled out in mid-January across Sydney and the state
- The Sydney Business Chamber says there’s been an increase in foot traffic in the CBD
Busy trade ahead of Christmas means venues have told the NSW Government there is no need to launch the incentive scheme designed to stimulate the post-coronavirus economy.
The Government’s Dine and Discover vouchers were due to be rolled out across Sydney’s CBD this month and statewide from January, but now the entire program will be pushed back to next month.
