Face masks will soon become mandatory in some indoor settings across Greater Sydney as a COVID-19 cluster that originated in the citys Northern Beaches continues to grow.
From midnight Saturday, residents across the region will be required to don a mask while shopping, using public transport and attending places of worship.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the move balanced the health risk while providing security to citizens but allowed businesses to continue operating.
