NRL will refer social media trolls to police after Storm star reveals death threats – Fox Sports
The NRL has condemned members of the public threatening players through social media channels after Melbourne fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen revealed the issue is prevalent.
Papenhuyzen responded to a tweet from AFL player Mitch Robinson in which he slammed cowardly trolls for messaging players accusing them of losing them punting multis and other bets.
Robinson said players often receive abuse and even death threats, a claim Papenhuyzen says is correct and also applies to rugby league.
Yes. And I dont think thats a surprise to many players because the majority would have (received death threats), Papenhuyzen said on Monday.
