NRL fines Parramatta Eels player involved in sex tape incident $5,000

The Parramatta player illegally filmed having consensual sex in a public toilet has been fined $5,000 by the NRL.
Key points:
- The NRL said players had a responsibility to ensure their actions did damage the reputation of the game
- The player has five days to respond to the breach notice
- The NRL said it would support the player if he wished to pursue criminal action against the person who filmed the video
However, the league also offered to assist the player if he wished to pursue legal action against the person who recorded the video.
The Eels argued the player had his privacy invaded by being filmed in a sex act without his consent, with the footage claimed to have been taken over the cubicle door by a third party.
