Notorious Moreton Bay water pipeline to be replaced

“Even though the recent burst was identified to have occurred in a different section of the original pipeline, they were close enough to justify replacing the whole section.”

The pipeline replacement work will need overnight water supply disruption in March for Karragarra, Lamb and Macleay islands.

“Seqwater is mindful to keep disruptions to nearby residents and businesses to a minimum and we thank Redland City Council along with the local community for their support and cooperation during this work,” Ms Bruce said.

Infrastructure on the island communities has been a topic of contention for residents, with a reported surge in people purchasing cheap blocks of land on the islands in recent months.
