Bulldogs coach Trent Barrett has unwittingly let slip that the club has missed out on the signature of Broncos young gun Brendan Piakura, unbeknownst to Kevin Walters.
The two clubs have been locked in a tug-of-war for the promising youngster, which was made all the more crucial with the departure of fellow talent Reece Walsh from Red Hill.
But speaking in the aftermath of the Bulldogs’ 24-0 loss to the Broncos, Barrett let slip that the club had not succeeded in luring Piakura.
