North Queensland couple killed in domestic elevator accident identified as beloved grandparents

A Northern Queensland couple who died after they fell from their home elevator have been identified as beloved grandparents.

Sebastiano and Maria Grasso were found critically injured in their home in Ayr on Wednesday.

It’s believed they fell from their home elevator, with investigators working to determine whether a mechanical fault is to blame.

Burdekin MP Dale Last said the couple was well known in the community and were members of a large family.
