North Queensland banana farmer furious at lack of assistance after wind damage

An Innisfail banana producer says growers are not receiving enough support six weeks after freak winds devastated the region’s farms.

Dianne Sciacca and her husband, Frank, had 40 hectares of bananas wiped out by winds associated with Tropical Cyclone Niran, which also affected a further 1,200 hectares between Cairns and Silkwood.
