No rest for Demons as they contemplate playing Tom McDonald on a wing – The Age
Melbourne have prepared their squad for playing games off short breaks and will play the best team available each week during the compressed phase of the season.
“Our plan is not to rest anyone … we certainly won’t be reckless with that. If players are sore and unavailable then they won’t play.”
He said they would be mindful particularly of players such as Harley Bennell who has only returned this season after successive calf injuries threatened his career but they would assess the situation between each game rather than mapping out a plan.
