‘No regrets’ over resting stars but have Knights shown they’re just making up the numbers? – Fox Sports
Newcastle coach Adam O’Brien admits it looks like there’s a fair gulf between his team and the top NRL sides, but is confident the Knights can be competitive come finals time.
He also has no regrets over choosing to rest a number of players ahead of a 42-12 thrashing at the hands of the Roosters in Round 18.
Newcastle has looked like a genuine title contender at times this season but the inconsistency of the outfit has most pundits saying they cant win the premiership.
The weekends big result will confirm that belief in a lot of people but OBrien says that scoreline is not a fair indicator of how good his team is.
