Canada reported no new deaths related to COVID-19 within a one-day span this past Friday, a first for the country since March 15, Reuters reports.
According to news agency, the country had reported a total of 9,163 COVID-19 deaths on Thursday and the toll remained the same the following day.
Canada also reported 702 new cases of the disease in the same span, bringing the overall number of cases the country has reported in the past several months to 135,626 cases on Friday, Reuters reports.
